Spring!から9月のお知らせです。

Spring!に新しいエアコンが届き、とても快適になりました。生徒の皆様も親御様方も、ものすごく暑いロビーの中でお待ちいただき、ありがとうございました。もう心配する必要はなくなりました。私たちはSpring!を横浜で一番の英会話教室にすべく、常に改善を続けています。

また、Spring!にお越しの方に、駐輪用のチケットを置いてあります。階段下のポストの上に置いてありますので、ご覧になってください。Spring!のクラスでお越しではなくても、ご自由にお使いください。ご使用後は元の場所にお願いします。

Welcome to Spring Learning Studios September Update. We just got a new air conditioner installed and it has made a big difference. Thank you to all the students and the parents that survived the unbearable heat in the Spring Lobby. That is now an issue of the past. We are constantly trying to improve Spring to make it the best and most fun English school in Yokohama. A quick heads up that we have placed Spring Bike Parking Passes at the bottom of the stairs for easy parking for you all. Please feel free to use it during the week even if you are not attending a class at Spring and return it to the same spot when you are done.

1. Spring!のハロウィンイベント

10月31日(土)の15時～17時に、ハロウィンイベントを行います。限定のプレゼントもご用意しております。詳細は今月末にお伝えします。ドレスアップする良い機会でもあります。十分なスペースを確保するため、鶴見川の河川敷にて行います。詳しくはこれからのお知らせをお待ちください。

楽しいイベントになること間違いなしなので、ぜひご参加ください。ご参加希望の方は、10月15日までに [email protected] にご連絡をお願いします。

※こちらのイベントは、モダンイングリッシュを通しての予約ではないので、お気を付けください。

1.Spring Learning Community Halloween

The Halloween Event will be help on Saturday October 31st from 15:00 to 17:00. At this event, the SLS (Spring Learning Studio) Community will receive a special limited edition gift pack. The details of the event will be announced at the end of the month. It will be an opportunity for everyone to get dressed up. We are hoping to secure an outdoor space along the Tsurumi River with plenty of room for everyone. More on that on the official announcement. Please make time for this, it will be a fun experience. We ask that everyone RSVP before October 15th at [email protected] The email should be titled [Halloween].

Please Note: Reservations for SLS Events will not be done through our usual scheduling with Modern English.

2. Spring!によるスケートボードイベント

生徒の皆さんの中には、ダン先生が2000年～2010年の10年間、スケートボードのプロ選手として活躍していたのをご存じの方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。ナショナルジオグラフィックでの映画が完成し、スケートボード雑誌を始めたあと、バンクーバーにて子供たちに向けたスケートボードのプログラムを行っていました。もう10年前のことですが、他の人の役に立ちたいという彼の情熱は未だに変わりません。

先週、ダン先生は子供たちを連れて、鶴見川でスケートボードの楽しさをお伝えするイベントを行いました。お試しではありましたが、若い世代にスケートボードを教えたいという情熱を思い起こさせるものだったそうです。これを機に、鶴見川やSpring!にてスケートボードのフリーレッスンを毎月行うことを予定しています。室内で行われる場合は、前もっての予約が必要となり、5人くらいの少人数で行います。日曜日に2回、どちらも最大5人のグループにて行う予定です。

次のイベントは、10月18日(日)13：00～14：30、15：00～16：30となっております。Spring!にてスケートボードを組み立て、ヘルメット着用や、ギアの理解など、安全の重要性についてお伝えします。ご予約は[email protected]にご連絡ください。(モダンイングリッシュではありませんので、ご注意ください。)メールの件名は「Urban Longboard October」とご記入ください。メールの受信順による先着順となりますので、ご了承ください。

2.Urban Longboarding Sponsored by Spring

Some of you may have heard that Dan from Spring competed in Professional Downhill Skateboarding for 10 years from 2000-2010. After completing a film that was featured on National Geographic and starting a magazine he ran a skateboarding program for kids in Vancouver called School of Riding. It was 10 years ago but the passion he has to help others has never changed. Last week his son, daughter and him volunteered at the Tsurumi River to show others the joys of longboarding. Although it was just a test lesson, he said it reminded him of the passion he has for teaching skateboarding to the youth. Because of this he will host monthly free lessons at Tsurumi River or at Spring Learning Studio. If the lessons are held indoors, they will be RSVP only and done in small groups of 5. They will be held 2 times on a Sunday with each group having a maximum capacity of 5. The next lesson will be on October 18th from 13:00-14:30 and 1500-16:30. We will build longboards at SLS and teach the importance of safety, wearing helmets and understanding gear. To RSVP, please email [email protected] (not Modern English) to reserve your spot. The email should be titled [Urban Longboard October]. It will be a first come first serve based on who emails us first.

3.隔月にてご両親向けのチュートリアルを行います

お子様たちが楽しく学ぶのを手助けするために、ご両親の協力はとても重要な関係があります。まだ日時は決まっておりませんが、子供たちが英語を学ぶ上でより手助けができるよう、近いうちにご両親に向けたチュートリアルを行います。日本人スタッフとともに、私たちのレッスンに用いているメソッドをご紹介します。英語が話せる必要はございません。日本語にて最近のレッスンで何を教えているのか、これからのレッスンで何をするのかといったことをご説明いたします。

3. Bi-Monthly Parent Tutorials

There is a strong correlation between parental involvement when it comes to helping kids learn subject that they are excited about. We do not have a set date yet but in the near future we will be hosting tutorials sessions for parents to better help their children with English. At these sessions, we will have a someone from our Japanese staff assisting in communicating to parents the methodology behind our lessons. Parents will not need to know how to speak English for these sessions. We will go over what was taught recently with an explanation in Japanese as well as prepare them for what is being taught up and coming.

In closing, we want to sincerely thank everyone for their continued support during these past 6 months. We have changed to a better curriculum, structured the school and the systems much more efficiently and we have all had to ride the Covid19 wave. None of which was easy for anyone so we really do appreciate all of our loyal students.
